Michelle Trachtenberg is an American actress born on October 11, 1985, in New York City to immigrants from the Soviet Union. Her mother worked as a bank manager, and her father worked in fiber optic technology. Thanks to her Russian roots, Michelle speaks Russian fluently. She began acting in commercials at the age of 3 and made her debut in television series. Her breakthrough came with the lead role in Spy Girl (1996), followed by Dawn in Buffy the Vampire Slayer (2000–2003), for which she was nominated for an Emmy. She is known for Gossip Girl (Georgina Sparks, 2008–2012), Eurotrip (2004), and Superdog (2007).
