Biography of Kseniya Surkova
Ksenia Igorevna Surkova is a Russian actress who has shown an interest in the arts since childhood. She was born in Moscow and, from an early age, studied at the ‘DoMiSolka’ musical theatre. At the age of seven, Ksenia made her screen debut in the short film *Druzhok*, which marked her first step into the world of cinema. She later enrolled in the acting department at VGIK, graduating in 2010 after studying in Igor Yasulovich’s workshop. After graduating, Ksenia began working with the ‘Centre for Dramaturgy and Directing’ theatre, where she continued to hone her craft.
The actress gained widespread recognition following her role as Natasha in the film *One War* (2009). For this performance, Surkova received the ‘New Star’ award at the ‘Constellation’ festival and the award for Best Actress at the ‘Amur Spring’ festival. However, it was her role as Anya Malysheva (Terentyeva) in the TV series *Olga*, which ran from 2016 to 2023, that brought her the widest popularity. In addition, viewers know Ksenia from the projects *Crisis of a Tender Age* and *Family Album*, as well as from a number of other film and television roles.
Today, Ksenia Surkova continues to appear regularly in films and TV series, whilst also trying her hand at producing. Her performances are characterised by naturalness and sincerity, which help her remain a prominent figure in Russian cinema.
