Biography of Barbara Brylska
Barbara Brylska, born on June 5, 1941, in Skotniki, Poland, is a legendary Polish actress whose role as Nadia Sheveleva in Irony of Fate, or Enjoy Your Bath! (1975) made her an icon in the USSR and Russia. She grew up in a family of a locksmith and a seamstress, studied at an art school, then at theater schools in Łódź and Warsaw. She made her film debut in 1956 in Galoshes of Happiness. She rose to fame in Poland with her role as Kama in Pharaoh (1966). She received the USSR State Prize for Irony of Fate. She starred in Anatomy of Love (1972) and Down House (2001). She was married three times: to Jerzy Zelnik, Jan Borowiec, and Ludwik Kosmal, with whom she had a daughter, Barbara (1973–1993, died in an accident), and a son, Ludwik. After the tragedy, she reduced her career. In 2008–2009, she was a judge on the shows Two Stars and People's Star. She shares her memories on Facebook. Barbara is a symbol of elegance and talent.
