Biography of Ira Smelaya (Tatarka)
Irina Smelaya (stage name Tatarka, born December 21, 1991, Naberezhnye Chelny) is a Russian singer, blogger, and one of the most colorful and unconventional personalities in Russian show business.
She grew up in an ordinary family, studied in a mathematics class, enrolled in an economics institute, but dropped out after two years and moved to St. Petersburg. There, she started an ironic video blog under the nickname Tatarka: her Tatar accent, absurd humor, and bold presentation instantly made her a star. From 2016 to 2020, she was married to Ilya Prusikin (Little Big), with whom she shot music videos and participated in projects.
After her divorce, Ira focused on music (the tracks “Kurtka,” “Bye-Bye,” and “Altyn”) and her solo career, retaining her million-strong audience on Instagram, YouTube, VK, and Twitter.
