Biography of Anna Zavtur
Anna Zavtur is a Russian theatre and film actress, born on 25 February 1999 in St Petersburg. She grew up in a large family in the St Petersburg suburb of Tsarskoye Selo, alongside her three brothers. She has been passionate about acting since childhood: together with her eldest brother, she filmed sketches and took part in creative projects. In 2020, Anna graduated from the Russian State Institute of Performing Arts (RGISI, Veniamin Filshtinsky’s course). Whilst still a student, she began appearing in films and performing in the theatre. In 2022, she was accepted into the company of the prestigious Academic Small Drama Theatre – the Theatre of Europe (MDT) – under the direction of Lev Dodin. Anna is best known to audiences for her roles in the popular TV series *Likhie* (as Liza), *High Season*, *The Surgeon*, *Sherlock in Russia*, as well as in projects such as *The Trap for the Judge*, *The Redhead* and others. She successfully combines theatre with film work, demonstrating remarkable charisma, emotional depth and versatility. Today, Anna Zavtur is one of the most promising young actresses in Russian theatre and television drama. She continues to act actively both on screen and on the stage of the MDT.
