Biography of Khloya Kim (Chloe Kim)
Chloe Kim (born April 23, 2000, Long Beach, California) is an American snowboarder of Korean descent and one of the most decorated and recognizable athletes in the history of snowboarding.
She grew up in Los Angeles and started skating at the age of 4 under the influence of her father, who built her first ramp in the backyard. At the age of 6, she won her first US Junior National Championship. She made her debut in adult competitions at the age of 13 (2013), and at 17 she became an Olympic champion in the halfpipe at the 2018 Games in Pyeongchang, performing a 1080 (triple flip). At the 2022 Olympics in Beijing, she defended her title, becoming a two-time Olympic champion in halfpipe.
Career highlights: 2 Olympic gold medals, 4 World Championship gold medals (2019, 2021, 2023), 6 X Games victories (a record among women in halfpipe), numerous World Cup stages. Her style—powerful amplitude tricks, consistency, and creativity—has made her an icon of the sport.
