Biography of Elena Temnikova
Elena Temnikova is a well-known Russian singer, songwriter and television presenter. She was born on 18 April 1985 in Kurgan. From childhood, she showed creative talent: she studied music, attended various clubs and even took part in a karate class. She rose to fame in 2003 after taking part in the second series of *Fabrika Zvyozd* (Star Factory), where she came third. In 2007, Elena became one of the founding members and lead singer of the band Serebro. As part of the group, she achieved enormous success — the band represented Russia at the 2007 Eurovision Song Contest and took an honourable third place. In 2009, Temnikova left Serebro and embarked on a solo career. Her pop and deep house tracks (‘Breath’, ‘Jealousy’, ‘Don’t Blame Me’ and others) struck a chord with listeners. As well as music, Elena has tried her hand at presenting, appearing on the programmes *The Last Hero* and *Spot on*, and is also involved in design. Today, Elena Temnikova continues her creative work, remaining one of the most vibrant and distinctive figures on the Russian music scene.
