Biography of Zhanin Flok (Janine Flock)
Janine Flock (born July 8, 1989, Vienna) is an Austrian athlete and skeleton racer, one of the most successful in the history of the sport.
She grew up in Vienna and started skeleton in 2007 at the age of 18, quickly showing her talent. She made her World Cup debut in the 2008/09 season and won her first victory in 2011. Key achievements: 3-time world champion (2019, 2021, 2023), 2-time European champion (2021, 2023), 4-time winner of the Skeleton Small World Cup, more than 40 podiums at World Cup stages.
She finished fourth at the 2018 Olympics in Pyeongchang (0.21 seconds behind the bronze medalist) and fifth at the 2022 Olympics in Beijing. In the 2024/25 season, she returned after giving birth and won several World Cup stages, confirming her status as a leader.
