Biography of Femke Kok
Femke Kok (born December 16, 2001, in Hoogeveen, Netherlands) is a Dutch speed skater and one of the brightest stars of the 2020s generation of world speed skating.
She has been involved in speed skating since childhood in her native Hogesand, quickly showing talent in sprint disciplines. She made her international debut in 2018 at the junior level, and in 2019 she won bronze at the Junior World Championships. Her breakthrough at the senior level came in the 2020/21 season: her first victory in a World Cup sprint race and silver at the European Championships.
Key achievements: 2023 World Champion in sprint all-around, two-time European Champion (2022, 2024) in sprint all-around, multiple World Cup stage winner in the 500 m and 1000 m. At the 2022 Olympics in Beijing, she took 4th place in the 500 m and 5th in the 1000 m. In the 2025/26 season, she leads the overall standings in the Sprint World Cup and is considered the main contender for gold at the 2026 Milan-Cortina Olympics.
