Linda Cardellini (born June 25, 1975 in Mount Prospect, Illinois) is an American actress known for her diverse film, television, and voice-over roles. Raised in an Italian-American family, she aspired to an acting career from an early age. She graduated from the University of Chicago for the Arts and made her acting debut in 1997 in the projects Good Girls and Freeride. She gained widespread popularity for her roles in the series ER (1998–2003, Sam Taggart), and the films Freestyle (2004), Silver Linings Playbook (2012), Gravity (2013), and Green Book (2018), for which she was nominated for an Oscar for Best Supporting Actress. From 2019 to 2022, Linda portrayed Laura Barton in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, appearing in Avengers: Endgame and the TV series Hawkeye.
