Biography of Rouz Makgouen
Rose McGowan (born 5 September 1973, Florence, Italy) is an American actress, director, writer and activist who has become one of the key figures in the #MeToo movement. She was born in Italy to American parents and spent her childhood in the ‘Children of God’ commune. At the age of 10, she moved to the US. She made her film debut in 1992, but rose to fame in 1996 following her role in Wes Craven’s cult film *Scream*. She later appeared in notable films such as *Planet of Terror*, *Charlie Charlie* and *Black Orchid*, and also played one of the leading roles in the television series *Charmed* (as Paige Matthews, 2001–2006). In 2017, Rose McGowan became one of the first to publicly accuse producer Harvey Weinstein of sexual assault, which sparked the widespread #MeToo movement in Hollywood. She published her autobiography, *Brave* (2018), in which she recounted her harrowing experiences in the industry. She is 163 cm tall. In recent years, she has appeared less frequently in films, focusing instead on directing, music and activism. Rose McGowan is a strong, independent and courageous woman who has gone from being a Hollywood star to becoming one of the most influential voices speaking out against sexual assault and toxic culture in the film industry.
