Sasha Grey (real name Marina Ann Hantzis, born 14 March 1988, Sacramento, California) is an American former porn actress, writer, musician, actress and social activist, and one of the most recognisable figures in the industry of the 2000s and the post-adult era. At the age of 18 (in 2006), she made her debut in the adult film industry, quickly becoming one of the highest-paid and most talked-about actresses. She appeared in over 300 scenes for studios including Evil Angel, Brazzers, Digital Playground and others. She has won dozens of AVN and XBIZ awards, including ‘Best New Starlet’ (2007) and ‘Performer of the Year’ (2008). In 2011, she announced her retirement from the industry, stating that she wished to pursue other avenues.
