Biography of Varvara Shmykova
Varvara Shmykova is a Russian theatre and film actress, born on 1 March 1994 in Moscow. She grew up in an artistic environment and decided at a young age to pursue a career in acting. In 2015, Varvara graduated from the Boris Shchukin Theatre Institute (Pavel Khomsky’s class) and was accepted into the company of the Evgeny Vakhtangov Moscow Academic Theatre, where she continues to work to this day. The actress gained widespread recognition for her role as Lera in the popular TV series *Olga* (2016–2020), in which she played the bold and outspoken sister of the lead character. Viewers also remember her performances in the projects *Pishcheblok*, *Metod*, *Nadvoe*, *Slovo Patsana. Blood on the Asphalt’, ‘Fisher’ and ‘Cyber Village’. Varvara successfully combines theatre work with film and television roles. She is distinguished by her vibrant personality, powerful energy and ability to create memorable, vivid characters — ranging from comedic to dramatic.
