Biography of Yutta Lerdam (Jutta Leerdam)
Jutta Lerdam is a Dutch short track speed skater. She won silver at the Beijing Olympics in the 1,000 meters, has won several world championships in individual distances, and has also won sprint competitions at the world and European levels. In addition, she is the European champion in the 1000 meters.
Yutta first took to the ice at the age of five. By 2017, she had already made a name for herself at the World Junior Championships in Helsinki, where she won three gold medals — in the all-around, team race, and 1,500 meters — as well as two bronze medals in the 500 and 3,000 meters. In 2019, the athlete successfully transitioned to adult sport: she won the national championship in the sprint all-around and twice came third in individual distances, after which she secured her place in the Dutch national team.
