Biography of Lara Della Mea
Lara Della Mea (born February 24, 2000, in Sondrio, Italy) is an Italian alpine skier and one of the most promising slalom skiers in the world in the 2020s generation.
She grew up in Lombardy in a family of skiers and started skiing at the age of 3. She trained at the Bormio club, quickly showing talent in technical disciplines. She made her World Cup debut in 2018 at the age of 18 and won her first slalom victory in 2022 (Kranjska Gora) Key achievements: bronze medal at the 2023 World Championships in slalom, several podium finishes in World Cup stages, consistent top 10 finishes in slalom.
At the 2022 Olympics in Beijing, she placed 7th in slalom and 12th in giant slalom. In the 2025/26 season, she leads the World Cup slalom standings, having won several stages (Killington, Levi, Semmering), and is considered the main contender for gold at Milan-Cortina 2026.
